Esther Okuro (she/her)

Director of Training & Development

Hailing from Kenya, Esther brings 25 years of playing experience and a deep passion for the game. Her coaching journey began at Oakwood University as a Tactical Coach, where she helped lead the program’s transition to Division II and supported HBCU tournament development. Esther has coached with Major League Soccer clubs for four consecutive seasons, working with youth aged 2–14 across all skill levels.

She’s collaborated with coaches from the Premier League’s Fulham Academy, West Ham, and the Ireland National Football Association. A US Soccer–licensed coach and standout defender known for her interceptions and assists, Esther is committed to giving back through the game.

Ezra Owjang (he/him)

Director of Programming

Ezra is a former college soccer player at Oakwood University. He built his career through developing his skills in the streets, spending little time with a club or organization. Ezra has always been self taught and self-driven, having built business and jumping into technology consulting. He has always stayed involved in soccer through different avenues – volunteering as a coach, developing soccer programming for various organizations, and now leading Tekkerz programming.

Remy Schroeder (they/them)

Director of Operations

Remy brings a unique blend of experience across education, coaching, nonprofit management, and operations strategy. With a background in teaching and youth development, they have led both classroom and field-based programs that center growth, equity, and impact.

As a nonprofit leader and consultancy team member, Remy has designed and scaled programs that serve communities with intention and sustainability. At Tekkerz, they lead day-to-day operations, program development, and team coordination—ensuring every initiative runs with purpose, precision, and people at the center.
